Il capitano della BikeExchange aumenterà il suo vantaggio in discesa e a conservarlo sull’ultima salita, conquistando tappa tappa e maglia di leader. Sivakov resta il suo più credibile avversario, con il russo della Ineos Grenadiers che è riuscito a trovare un buon ritmo nel finale piazzandosi al secondo posto. Niente da fare invece per Quintana e Hugh Carthy che finiscono molto dietro, mentre Daniel Martin e Vlasov, restano lontano dalla leadership di Yates.
